Newsletter - Obedience is better than sacrifice - March 2026

📖 Hollander Family Newsletter – March 2026

Greetings Beloved,

We greet you in the wonderful Name of our Great God and Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that you are doing good and that it is well with your soul. According to the WORD of the Most High, obedience is better than sacrifice, therefore we choose to walk in obedience to our Father 😊

📖 Scriptures for the Month:

Deuteronomy 28:1-2

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.  And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God"

I Samuel 15:22

So Samuel said: “Has the LORD (YHVH) as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams 🐏

John 10:27 (NKJV)

🐏 God says: “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

😃☺️Highlights and 😭😢 lowlights for the month

Our first highlight for this month was definitely the outreach to Klerksdorp – we visited family and had the chance over the weekend to do street evangelism and reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Another highlight was the one-day camp that we had with 31 teenagers the next weekend. We spend time teaching them to hear the voice of the LORD. There was also an awesome praise and worship session. It blessed us so much seeing them touched by the WORD of God and the Holy Spirit. One of the low points during the month was the car’s gearbox leaking oil, but the lowlight was turned around when the LORD helped us to get the seal replaced. We praise the LORD for His loving Kindness and the brotherly love we can enjoy in Him.

🙏 Men’s & Women’s Ministries

  • Men’s Prayer – We are grateful for the group of men in Dewetsdorp who gather weekly in prayer. Lives have been touched, prayers answered, and we continue trusting the Lord to raise up more men of valour, bold in standing for the Truth.

  • Women’s Fellowship – Led by my wife, these weekly gatherings bring women together in prayer and practical ministry. They crochet and knit items that are shared during outreaches. These times of fellowship have been deeply edifying, and the Lord continues to open doors to minister at the local orphanages, old-age homes, homes for disabled people and police stations.

Through these ministries, people receive love and encouragement, rape victims receive care packages, and blankets have been distributed to those in need. The current project that they are working on now is to make blankets for the winter for 38 disabled people in Bloemfontein. Currently, they have finished 11 blankets. Pray for wool provision.

📖 James 1:27 – “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

🍞 Ministering to the Poor

📖 Galatians 2:10 – “They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.”

Through our “5 Loaves and 2 Fish Project”, we distribute monthly food parcels while sharing the gospel. We have been ministering to 7 poor families in Dewetsdorp with food parcels, clothing, household supplies, and toiletries. These visits not only meet the physical needs of the saints but also open doors for counselling and prayer.  These families are of different races and cultural backgrounds because we all need Jesus.

See pictures below of some of the parcels that we hand out every month:

We also partner with a sister in our church who provides meals for those living on the streets. These times of fellowship bring opportunities to pray, encourage, and share the love of Christ.

📚 School & Youth Ministry

  • We have weekly praise & worship, and Bible study at the local school that continues to bear fruit. New believers are given Bibles, and we pray for a deep hunger for the Word of God.
  • Hostel ministry has been especially impactful, with many students experiencing healing and deliverance in Jesus’ Name.
  • We prayed to the LORD for Bibles, and He provided! AlleluYah! 🙌 Thank you for praying with us. See pictures below of some of the new and used Bibles handed out:

We also celebrate each child’s birthday 🎉 and pray over each life to be entrusted to God’s purpose.

We also had a one-day camp for the Sotho children that we hosted on the 8th of March on one of the local farms. I’m excited to see what the LORD is doing in Dewetsdorp. See some pictures below:

👪 Family Updates

We humbly ask for prayer for the family. My mom needed to go to one of the specialist Doctors in Bloemfontein who did several blood tests as well as other tests that confirmed her loss of memory and some deficiencies in her body. She got the right medication, and she feels better now.

🙌 Prayer Requests

Please continue to lift these needs before the Lord:

  • Healing for my wife, who still suffers from some symptoms like abdominal pains, nausea, etc.
  • Provision and guidance for upcoming mission trips to Namibia, Gangala and Lesotho.
  • Anointing, blessings and fruitfulness for all upcoming counseling sessions, Bible studies, services, and online teachings.

🙏 Thank You

We are deeply grateful for your prayers, encouragement, and support—whether through words, finances, or partnership. You make it possible for us to continue this Kingdom work and meet daily needs.

📖 Philippians 4:7 – “And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
